Keeping up with your keyword density is very important because it is the numbers of times you see a certain word appear on a web page. Only use your keywords though where they are needed, because you don’t want to overdo it, or it will be denied and be considered spam.
Some say that meta tags have no effect on your placing with the search engines. Well that is nearly correct except for one ” the description meta tag. Most search engines (including Google) do not in reality take it into account for ranking purposes ” yet ” many use it in their search results.
A search on any search engine for a well known keyword yields thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of results. In such a situation, how a website gets itself among the topmost results of a query for a particular keyword is known as Search Engine Optimization or SEO. Finding a place within the top results on related and important searches increases the number of people who are drawn to your website and hence you do more business. That is the reason why SEO has become so important.
