Four Principles of SEO – Website Improvement
Are you wondering what you can do to get people to actually FIND your site in the search results? If so, and you have looked into SEO then surely you have become at least a little overwhelmed by all the possibilities.
How can you create a website which will get noticed without spending a lot of time learning all of the complicated terminology and concepts involved in SEO? If you are ready to make SEO simple and use it to get your site noticed, here are the four key principles to get you started.
The first one is always going to be focus. Is your niche specific enough to where you know exactly what kind of people are selling to? If not, then you can be assured that you are going to have a hard time making your site really stand out.
Get specific on what you are going to offer your clients, even if it takes time, it is worth it, as your visitors will be more targeted.
Secondly, you should place your keywords exactly where search engines will be able to read them and to understand your website is relevant – headings, your images alt tags etc. If you want this to work, placing them only in content will not help.
Third, you need to have a powerful key to action, which would make your visitors click other pages of your site. It is very important because it determines your Click Through Rate, which is actually tracked by Google. Low indicator would mean your website is not relevant, so in order to be aware what your Click Through Rate is, install Google analytics.
Finally, you will need to link your website to another sites, which are ranked by search engines and relevant to your business. Always give priority to quality, as 10 back links from relevant websites will give you more value than 50 back links from just any site. You can start obtaining backlinks by visiting other peoples blogs and posting your comments, as well as writing articles for content delivery websites, however, be sure to check the relevancy of these sites.
Take about twenty minutes a day to work with your site and make sure that these things are in place. As you do, be sure that you are treating SEO as a process and always looking for ways to improve and to become more relevant to the search engines. Then you can be assured that you will have a site which will get attention.
