Hi,

As you may have guessed from the cover photo, I am passionate about The Tarot.

​

My mother brought me my first Tarot Deck when I was 13 years old. I was fascinated by the imagery and, truth to be told, those cards have led me on a fifty-year journey into what some call the mystery traditions, with a four-year break to complete my Earth Sciences degree. 

 

After all Science and, Mysticism do not mix.

​

How wrong I was all those years ago!

​

Science and Mysticism are simply different lenses through which to understand the world. They ask different questions using different methods.

 

Science progresses through careful analysis and specific methods thus seeking a consensus view. 

​

Mysticism is a more personal approach to understanding the world and is, by definition, subjective, often not open to "scientific" validation.

​​

Each seems to answer some very profound questions and neither has a complete answer.  We find theists who are scientists because they have learned this.

​

Rather than be an "either/or" thinker I like to consider myself a "Rational Mystic". 

​

As such my interests are wide and varied, as the photo gallery above attests.

​

Many of the photos are of me in "performance" mode. 

​

I am a full member of Equity having worked as a performer, writer, consultant, and director in several shows,

 

​My speaking engagements have taken me to many places presenting the opportunity to work with and meet some amazing folks. Formal presentations to companies like Xerox, Panasonic, "A Place in The Sun", the Museum of Life, and many more.

​

I have traveled to engagements at the NEC, Reebok Stadium, Colleges, and Universities as well as "New Age" Festivals across the UK, and in the USA.

​

I have appeared on TV and Radio as well as being a Director of Coast FM in Cornwall.

​

Along the way I have written several books, one becoming an Amazon Best Seller.

​

In recent years, my focus has been on finding ways to engage people in some of the deeper questions about life, the universe, and everything.

​

The Tarot has always been a guide in that the images within the cards speak about a journey through life. It is far more than the "fortune-telling" tool it is frequently presented as. 

 

Likewise, much stage magic has been reduced to a burlesque; a colourful distraction designed to amuse. Many performers forget that aspects of their art were once the focus of stories about the nature of the universe. The secrets shared by tribal shamen were designed to amaze, provoke, and challenge.

Both Science and Magic can be thought of as having similar aims.

 

They encourage us to think about the world differently.

​

Rational Mysticism has a foot on both camps and seeks to do the same.
